Visitor Insights
Plain statements about the platform, who stands behind it, what appears on the pages and how readers are meant to use them.
An independent platform focused on hospitality discovery — what this site is and, plainly, what it is not
Velvet Stay is a static editorial guide. It presents selected hospitality properties in Canada through short, structured overviews. It is not a booking engine, a metasearch tool or a loyalty programme portal.
Nothing on these pages offers a room, holds a date or implies that inventory is checked in real time. The site’s job ends when the reader understands the place well enough to open an official listing.
Discovery here means orientation: city versus countryside, resort versus downtown hotel, waterfront versus mountain edge. It does not mean a curated promotional list or a scored shortlist.
If you arrived expecting a checkout flow, you are on the wrong kind of site — and that is intentional. The catalogues route you outward for anything transactional.
Who We Are — an independent guide with no ownership of, or agreement with, any property named on it
Velvet Stay is operated as an independent guide. It owns none of the properties named in its catalogues and holds no management agreement with their operators.
Property names and marks appear for identification only. Their presence does not signal endorsement, sponsorship or partnership in either direction.
Contact reaches the desk that maintains this publication — questions about copy, corrections and general enquiries. It does not reach a reservations team, because this site has none.
Independence also means we refuse guest testimonials about named hotels. Feedback published here speaks only to the guide’s clarity and structure.
What We Present — descriptive overviews of accommodation, amenities and surroundings, in a consistent structure
Each entry covers accommodation character, amenities implied by verified setting tags, and the surroundings that frame a stay. The vocabulary stays concrete: downtown, countryside, waterfront, mountain, casino-hotel, resort.
Star class appears when supplied with the venue data. Category labels — hotel, resort hotel, casino — appear as published facts, not as marketing adjectives we invent.
We do not list room counts, restaurant names, award years or distance-in-minutes claims. Those details belong on official pages if they belong anywhere.
Catalogues are split by reading angle. Urban Properties weighs walking-distance city context. Stay Discoveries reads rooms, location and landscape as a general cross-section.
Our Approach — clarity, structure and transparency, and why the site sends readers to official listing pages for details
Clarity, structure and transparency sit above persuasion. Sentences stay short. Sections answer one question at a time. Outbound links are limited to the official listing for each venue.
Transparency includes the independence notice on every page and the legal documents in the footer. Readers should know what this site is before they follow a listing link.
When details matter — policies, inventories, dining programmes — we send you to the official listing page. That page is the authority. This guide is the map.
If something looks incomplete, it is usually because we refused to invent it. Ask the desk for a correction if a supplied fact is wrong; do not expect us to fill gaps with speculation.
